I've been tired, so no postings recently. To carry on where I left off, for my birthday I also got The X-Files season 4 on DVD AND Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Mrs. splorp! and I already played through the first couple levels and I've played a few more on my own. When you play solo, you get two songs by non-Aerosmith artists, then some video of Aerosmith, then 2 Aerosmith songs followed by an Aerosmith encore. It's pretty cool.
On Sunday, I helped my mother-in-law rip some CDs to put songs on her MP3 player. I installed some ripping software on her laptop and spent a few hours ripping and dragging. Not a big deal, really. HOWEVER. When I woke up on Monday morning, my neck was sore. It continued to get worse throughout the day, so I went to my chiropractor after work. He always does a great job and doesn't charge a ridiculous amount. So, he snap crackle popped my neck and upper back. A little. I was so damned tight he couldn't get much. When I woke up Tuesday morning, I couldn't turn my head. I had to take the day off and made it back to the chiropractor that afternoon. He managed to get more cracks in my neck and back. It was still bad on Wednesday and still hurts a little today.
I remember when I was younger and in order to hurt myself I had to actually DO SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST LOOK SLIGHTLY DOWN. ::sigh:: Getting old doth suck.
Good news (for me and my wife)!!! The housing market is still tanking even after the idiocy that Congress passed and the Idiot-in-Chief signed. I am expecting another huge increase in foreclosures in California next year. There's a ton of PayOption Arm (Pick-a-Payment, etc) loans that are set to reset in April 2009. Some people will see their monthly mortgage payment increase by in excess of $1,000. I figure after a few months of that, we'll see more foreclosures happen. Finally, I'm seeing some housing prices that aren't incredibly overvalued. We may have a chance to buy a house.
Mrs. splorp! and I took a vacation back to my old stomping ground in Ohio. My baby sister, Lizard, had a baby boy in February and I hadn't had a chance to meet him, yet. I posted some new pictures of Max here. I also put up a picture of my buddy Rob and my grandfather, too.
My birthday is tomorrow. I still don't feel as old as I am (except for my ankles). I'll be 37 years old. Mrs. splorp! gave me one of my gifts early. I got the "Essential Guide to The X-Files Movie" on DVD. Gee, I wonder why I got that (;< A few years back (damn, it's been 7 years already) she bought me a PS2. That's a great gift for a 30 year old guy with hair several inches past his shoulders. I don't wanna grow up, completely.
