Open Office : Recommended by Pistos, a GeoShell user, who said, "Best free alternative to MS Office. [It] can import and export MS Office files." I concur, as I’ve had it installed on my home system for years. There have only been a few occasions where I had difficulty with a file, and that was with an early beta version.
